Roseli Chinese Restaurant Information

Tucked into a quiet stretch of Downtown Brooklyn, Roseli Chinese Restaurant at 228 Duffield St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, feels like the kind of neighborhood spot locals rely on when they want comforting Chinese food without fuss. The location is convenient for anyone walking through the area near MetroTech or heading home after work, and stepping inside reveals a casual diner-style atmosphere that focuses more on the food than flashy decor. The space is modest but welcoming, with the familiar aroma of stir-fried garlic, soy sauce, and sizzling woks drifting out from the kitchen.

The menu is exactly what many people hope for from a classic Chinese takeout restaurant: extensive, affordable, and full of recognizable favorites. Dishes like General Tso’s chicken, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, and shrimp with mixed vegetables sit alongside noodle staples like lo mein and fried rice. On a recent visit, the chicken lo mein arrived hot and generously portioned, with tender noodles coated in a savory sauce and plenty of vegetables mixed in. The balance of flavor leaned toward the comforting, slightly salty profile typical of New York-style Chinese cooking, which is exactly what regulars tend to expect.

One thing that stands out is how quickly the kitchen moves. Even during a busy lunch rush, orders come out surprisingly fast, making it a solid choice if you’re grabbing a quick meal between errands or office meetings. The service itself is straightforward and efficient; staff keep things moving and seem used to serving a steady flow of takeout customers while also handling the occasional dine-in table.

Looking at customer reviews online, the feedback tends to focus on the consistency and value of the menu. Many diners mention that portions are large enough to stretch into two meals, especially when ordering combination platters that include fried rice and an egg roll. That value factor is a big reason neighborhood spots like this stay busy. For under the price of many trendy fast-casual spots in Brooklyn, you can walk away with a full, satisfying meal.

While the atmosphere isn’t designed for a long, leisurely dinner, it suits the restaurant’s role perfectly: dependable, quick, and focused on delivering familiar flavors. If you’re exploring Downtown Brooklyn and craving classic Chinese takeout-something hot, filling, and reasonably priced-this small restaurant fits neatly into the local food scene. The combination of a broad menu, reliable cooking, and a convenient Brooklyn location makes it the kind of place people remember when they just want something simple that hits the spot.

What People's Say About Place

After getting a very generous takeout lunch special I went back. It's an odd spot in the Sheraton hotel, but some of the food is very good. We enjoyed our dinner. The best dish was the Peking pork chops and the weakest dishes was the young chow fried rice and the wonton soup. The dim sum and the dumplings were very good. Would go back! Wonton Soup Har Gow Pork Shumai Pan fried pork dumplings Barbecue ribs Peking Pork Chops Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves Beef Chen Cun Fun Noodles Fried Chicken Stuffed With Shrimp Paste Young Chow Fried Rice

We had my daughter’s rehearsal dinner here the night before her wedding. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so gracious. What a special night.

Hidden gem. Roseli is high quality Cantonese, as good as any in Flushing or Chinatown or Sunset Park. The food is spectacular. Their pork dishes, fish dishes, veggies, tofu, and noodle dishes were all amazing. Perfect amount of flavor, without being heavy or greasy. The crispy noodles were executed with precision. The fried fish was so tender and crazy. The saucy pork chops explodes with savory flavor. The service is top notch. Billy is attentive and cares so much about the food and experience. We feel blessed to find places like this in the neighborhood. Can’t wait to come back for dim sum and watch a game at the bar!

Pretty restaurant in the lobby of the Sheraton, had the salt & pepper calamari and it was REALLY good! Perfectly salty and peppery with perfect rice and ready hot & fast

It is extremely unusual to have a authentic Chinese restaurant in the Marriott hotel in North America The staff is extremely friendly and I was able to speak with the chef who is from TaiShan Guangdong about his experience as dim sum chef also his uncle who used to have the most famous restaurant in China Town Manhattan… Therefore we came back to the hotel a bit earlier one night of our five nights stay specially to try what the chef recommended.. Lobster with sticky rice: very tasty and this is excellent dish … priced USD 53? it doesn’t sound very expensive but it comes with a very small lobster… sad Steamed spareribs is very good and they have us a bowl of steamed rice too… Veggie- as our request how to make it … It was very rush late dinner! Since we ate something before that, thus why we didn’t order a lot … the whole purpose is to try the Lobster with sticky rice

Ordered the General TSOs Chicken with Egg Drop Soup and Spring Rolls. I absolutely loved it. Great meal, atmosphere was quite likely because I was eating closer to late afternoon versus dinner. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
